16th MARCH 2012 CIVIC OPENING OF CENTRAL

CIVIC OPENING OF CENTRAL, CLAREMONT STREET SHREWSBURY

This evening we attended the Civic opening of the new Central Building in Claremont Street Shrewsbury. The old Babtist Church was removed last year leaving the front Gable end standing. The new build was then built behind this leaving the original front wall in situ looking as it always did, except when you step through the doors you find yourself inside a new modern building that has all the eco friendly box’s ticked in bold print.

The ribbon was cut by the oldest member of the church along with the youngest member, a fitting tribute to this fine new building. The  Central Logo was the result of Shrewsbury 6th Form students who were given the job of coming up with a fitting concept design for the new Central Building and they sure did a fine job.

After the ribbon cutting we went upstairs into a fantastic large room where we had a short service and the students played a short vidio of how they arrived with this great logo. There was a full house of guests at the opening a real whos who of the town and County, showing how important this new building built by Morris Properties is. The evening went past very quickly and it was soon time to set off for home.

Please see below a small pictorial of the evening. Thank you.

The students also designed a new Logo for the Crowmere Road Church and this is it.

I am sure that you will all agree that we have a lot of talented students in Shrewsbury and we wish them well in whatever life they seek after they leave college and go to Uni etc.
