SHREWSBURY CARNIVAL A MORNING TO CHOOSE A CARNIVAL QUEEN, PRINCESS AND JUNIOR CRIER.
Our first engagement on this busy day was to the Darwin Centre in Frankwell, a venue that not many know about but is a real gem, a true community building that is hidden away. Our job today is not to sell the venue but to decide who will be this years Carnival Queen and Princess as well as the 2012 Junior Crier. Below is a pictorial of the event I hope you enjoy.
Judges now in place, ready to start. What ahard job this is going to be, as there can only be one winner of each section yet I feel that they are all winners in their own right and I hope that they are all proud of themselves.
Then after meeting them all it was time to decide the winners, wow how do you do that. The fact was there was a dead heat and that resulted in a head to head to get our Princess.
With the Junior Crier decided it was then time to decide the Princess.
The Carnival Queen 2012 is Miss Daisy Rhodes, pictured above. Then it was time for the media to take pictures so we did the same.
Then we got brave and went outside for some more pictures.
It was then time for us to move on to our next engagement of the day.

YOUNG ENTERPRISE TRADE FAIR
Our next engagement took us from one Darwin Centre to another this one being the Shopping Centre, here we met with Young School pupils who have set up buisness as part of the Young Enterprise Scheme where they decide on a product and then market it and sell like mad at venues in both Telford and Shrewsbury. Please look at the pictorial below to get an idea of what they did as we walked around talking to them. I bought a can with a small animal like a bear that was filled with compost and grass seed sown I am suposed to keep it damp and watch the grass groww as hair I will keep you posted on my failure rate heeh!.
In fact my hand was going into my pocket often as there was a lot of good things to buy.
This is the stand that I bought my soon to be I hope a grass monstor bear from.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures, please make sure that next year you walk around the stalls and support these very talented youngsters.
It was then time to leave and get ready for our lst engagement of the day.
WELSH SOCIETY ANNUAL CONCERT
Our last engagement today is at Theatre Severn for the Annual Welsh Society Concert. All that I can say about this concert is Fantastic. The choir from South Wales was made up of very young children who sang really really well entertained us all, they were backed up by a piano solo and two very good solo singers. But I will be there next year as it is one concert you must attend. Really was that good. Fantastic way to end a long day.
Pictured above with the female solo artist and her family, before they left the theatre to head off home to North Wales. We then went home ourselves.
