TODAY WE OFFICIALLY OPEN A BEAUTY SALON AND ATTEND A CAROL SERVICE AT ST GILES CHURCH.
BEAUTY BY SARAH
Our first engagement was to Penfold on Gains Park to open a beauty salon called Beauty by Sarah. She with the help of family and friends made this shop into a really beautiful place, modern dcor and just the right size to feel comfortable in. (Not that I have been in many beauty salons before)
After a ribbon cutting ceremony we had a tour of her salon. It was during the tour that I remarked about her sirname and where her family had originated from, I soon realised that she was related to my Brother in Law who sadly passed away just over twelve months ago. So as soon as I get a spare minute I will be going back to talk with her family and look at their family tree. A truly small world that we live in.
Once again time ticks on and we have to make a quick exit to travel to our next engagement.
LEAGUE OF FRIENDS ANNUAL CAROL SEVICE
This evening we attended the annual carol service for the hospitals League of Friends at St Giles Church on Wenlock Road Shrewsbury. We arrived in good time and took our seats, by the time the service started the church was full.
During the service we were pleased to have the Mereside C of E Primary School Choir singing a number of Carols and a couple of special ones. The whole service was beautiful and the vicar was in full flow to make it a really memorable service.
Afterwards we were invited to the church hall next door for a drink and a mince pie. Once there we were able to network around the room and talk to one young singer who has a fantastic voice, who knows she could soon become famous. Watch this space!!!
After a little while we had to leave and head off home. The end of another day and once again the weather was bitter outside, thankfully the church and the hall were really warm.

As reported in the Shropshire Star, I am campaigning to have the footbridge from the Frankwell Car Park to the Riverside Shopping Centre called “The Zutphen Bridge”. As many will know that we are twinned with Zutphen a town in Holland and this connection between the two towns goes back further than the official 1977 Twinning ceremony, also further back than the Second World War. In fact our association with Zutphen goes back as far as 1586, when a certain Sir Philip Sidney was killed whilst attempting to push the Spanish out of Zutphen. In Zutphen they have Shrewsbury a traffic island named after Shrewsbury, as they are Proud in being twinned with Shrewsbury, I feel we should show our pride in a similar way and what better than a bridge.
